Good morning! Today it will be a bit of a different barrel. I would say that even quite unusual for this blog. Who visits regularly will sometimes notice a little recipe here and there and that would be it. However, I have never specifically focused on my diet here and did not emphasize the fact that I do not eat meat – any and for many years (actually, before it even became fashionable;)). I thought that maybe someone would need such an entry „helping” in trying such a diet – with pages, applications and books that definitely help in „embracing” new recipes at the beginning.
Before I get down to business, I will write how it was with me;) I just never liked meat, I refused to eat any sausages and the like when I was a few years old, and the Sunday pork chop was an absolute nightmare for me – I hid sliced pieces under potatoes. Sometimes it worked, and my parents didn’t notice that I hadn’t eaten. With age, this reluctance only grew stronger, and this way I have not eaten meat for at least 10 years.

As you can see, for me it was quite ‚natural’ and I have absolutely no shortage of meat, but more and more people decide to go vegetarian after reading about the health benefits of such nutrition. It is absolutely untrue that vegetarians are anemic (my brother, who ate pork chops every other day, was anemic, I never: P), they are weak (the only American weightlifter in the Olympics is a vegan!) And eat only salads, grass and stones. about that in a moment). On the contrary, such a menu can be much richer, more interesting and healthier than „meat”. Well-balanced, it will also provide all the nutrients needed by the body, including protein and iron. So there are no contraindications in this respect, what’s more, according to the Polish Food and Nutrition Institute, a vegetarian diet is safe and healthy even for children and pregnant women, and at the same time prevents many diseases such as diabetes, hypertension or some cancers. I will not write too much here because it is knowledge that is easy to gain online – you just need to delve into this topic on your own to come to the conclusion that it is worth trying. For people who want to lose weight, it is also a great choice – without major sacrifices and constant feeling of hunger, you can safely go down to your ‚natural weight’, i.e. the ideal one, without unnecessary kilograms.
An additional argument is the fact that WHO (World Health Organization), after many studies, has recently entered red meat and processed meat products on the list of carcinogenic products (which also includes, for example, cigarettes).
Of course, there is also the argument of human sensitivity to harm to animals, but that is a separate issue.
But what are they eating?
Okay, so what do such vegans / vegetarians actually eat? Just lettuce, soybeans and tofu? Or maybe grass and stones? ;)) At the beginning, watch the video below, it shows in an interesting way how by getting rid of meat we open ourselves to dozens of other possibilities.
You can still prepare delicious lasagna, stews, cabbage rolls, meatballs or pates – but without meat, and with a lot of health!
Well, how do you go about it now? Where to get recipes if you decide to try a vegetarian diet? Below I will present applications, websites and books that for me are an absolute mine of ideas – recipes that are easy, inexpensive, fast, tasty and, above all, healthy.
